question about Migration Assistant

I've got my new iMac connected to my Time Capsule via cat5. It just started running Migration Assistant, and it currently estimates over 8 hours remaining. Can I unplug the cat5 and immediately plug in a cat6? Will this cause the process to hang? There doesn't appear to be a way to stop or pause the process.
