I have misplaced a box of install cd's and was wondering if there was any way for me to get the programs that I use on my Powerbook on to my new Mackbook Pro. I have received programs in a .DMG format before that have allowed me to install them, is this the route i should take? If so how would i go about doing that?

Question about moving programs to a new computer without the install CD.

Depends on the programs. Many can just be dragged and dropped, but others, especially Adobes can only really be installed from the install CD/DVD.
