Question about "?" on folder toolbar

I just bought the disc from apple, updated my computer to snow leopard, and am confused by this question mark. I have highlighted it with a red box for your viewing ease. What does it mean? It says "Item can't be found" when I click it.

Any ideas??

Hold the Command key and drag it off. It points to an app, file or folder that used to be there.
