Question about pre-ordering at bestbuy

I wanna get an iPhone 4s for my wife but she will be traveling next week.
U think best buy will let me pre order, get an iPhone without porting the number until she comes back?

I have no idea if Best Buy does preorders.

But, you know the phone isn't actually available until a week from tomorrow, right? So, until it is in your hands and activated, it won't affect anything.
