what does this mean? from the sticky.. will this make an irversable change to my phone?
iPhone 3G Modem IS UPDATED. If you want to unlock it DO NOT update it or you may make it not possible in the future.

Official unlocked 3G phones can update and jailbreak using quickpwn and keep the unlock.[/i]

The 2.0.1/2 updates change the baseband to the phone. If you update to that, there may never be an unlock solution for your iPhone in the future. This doesn't matter in the USA as the iPhone 3G - even if it was unlocked - would not work on T-Mobile (or any other USA carrier). If you want to unlock it eventually for other countries, don't update to 2.0.1 or later.
