I currently have my iPhone 7 Plus on order through Apples Upgrade Program. It isn't supposed to ship for 2-3 weeks however. Now, I work in Manhattan and it's showing that the Grand Central store has them to reserve for pick up. If I fill out the info for the Apple Upgrade Program again and set to pick up the phone after work tomorrow can I just do that then cancel my other order? Will they allow me to do that?

I did exactly that the other day. I had one on order through IUP that was to be delivered at the beginning of October. I did the reservation, and when I got to the store, there were no issues with activation or completing the order even though I hadn't cancelled the other yet. I presume this is because my card hadn't been charged yet at that's point. I called to cancel my online order the next day, and everything is cool.

Excellent. Yeah my card hasn't been charged since it hasn't shipped yet and won't for two to three weeks. So I guess I'll do this as long as they still have them in stock today.

So all I have to do is go through the same steps to order the phone on the site, right?

Make sure you do it via the apple reserve website.

Damn, I just checked the reserve site and it shows they don't have it. Any idea why the Apple Store app showed they have it when I checked it through the Upgrade Program and it offered in store pick up?

I did exactly that 2 days ago (same store as well). I had actually been trying a while, but whenever I tried to reserve they'd be out of the plus models. anyhow they really run out of stock quickly, so best thing would be to reserve your phone around 12.01, when it seems they update their stock for the following day. Picking up the phone was a fast and simple, it was reserving it that posed a challenge. Good luck to you, and if it's not too out of the way both the 5th avenue one and the Soho one has really good stock options.

Awesome, thanks so much. I'll keep on the look out. Just checked the reserve site and none of the Manhattan stores had the 7 Plus 128gb Matte Black in stock. I'll just keep looking out for the reserve I guess.

I've seen the black plus models pop up quite a few times in the 5th avenue one. Just make sure you reserve quickly, cause those disappear at the blink of an eye.

Try checking multiple times throughout the day. That's what I did the past Sunday. I didn't check exactly at 12:01 am Sunday, I checked at around 10 am.

I did my reservation around 9:00 am this past Sunday...that may have been an anomaly. When I checked again about 30 minutes later just out of curiosity, they were no longer taking reservations. As others have noted, sometimes the reservation site says to check back after 12:01, and sometimes it says to check back after 8 am...so YMMV, I guess. Good luck!

Yeah, on the reserve site it's showing the Fifth Avenue has it in stock but when I go to reserve it it says "Service Currently Unavailable." :/

Alright! I'm set to pick up my iPhone 7 Plus in matte black with 256gb (more than I'll ever need but the only one in stock) at 3pm :). I'll just ask them about my other order when I get there and cancel it.

Thanks! I love it but it's so big ha. I have to get used to the Plus size. I'm on hold now with Apple trying to cancel the other order. Wish I could just do it online.
