iPod Question about scratched itouch

my mother gave me her ipod touch that she doesnt use anymore .. its a 2nd gen 16gb .. but the screen has a scratch or maybe a light crack ... is there a way to get it fixed or replaced ? or is the only thing i can do is buy a new one ?

well the screen is scratched or cracked but i guess it doesnt matter

Depending on how bad it is and how annoying it is to you, you could replace it.
