I have a 2007 macbook core 2 duo 2.0ghz 4GB of RAM

I want to upgrade the hard drive to an SSD, and I know how to do it hardware wise no problem

my question is.... will any SSD that size work or will the macbook only work with certain brands? also, is there any formatting that needs to be done from another machine or do I just stick the ssd in there and then it will allow me to install an OS?

I have seen some people commenting that their macbook isnt recognizing the ssd they tried... so I just wanted to make sure before spending the money

Any capacity size and brand will work. U will need to run disk utility to format the drive to Mac.
