Question about switching sim cards

Say I have jailbroken 3GS with no AT&T service on it.

I also have an AT&T Broadband To Go USB stick which has an activate SIM card.

Couldn't I theoretically take the Sim card out of the USB stick and place it into the iPhone and use MiWi?
 
Sure theoretically yes, just so you know at&t will know you switched the sim at least theoretically.
