iPod touch Question about the iTouch Bezel

Is it made from glass or plastic? Appears to be glass so I wonder why everybody worries about protectors. Glass doesn't scratch to easy.

The iPod Touch bezel is made of glass. It doesn't scratch, unless you have sand or a sand like substance on your finger. The iTouch is not an Apple product.

iTouch is the name gadget heads call the iPod touch. I'm assuming that its due to the long standing naming of products given by Apple on previous computers and PDAs.
