Question about the plastic on back of iPhone 5

Hi,

I just got on my iPhone 5 and was wondering if I can keep the the plastic piece that came with the iPhone on the back? I do have a case for it. It might be 2 to 3 weeks before I can find a protector for the back. Would it be ok to do this for that amount of time?

I cut the top back just a bit, for the camera and the flash.

Front plastic covers your earpiece which will hurt your call quality.

Edit - n/m you only wanted to know about the back. I'd be worried about sand and dust getting between it b/c it's not the same seal as a real protector. It could grind against the back.
