I bought an ipod touch when they first came out, and now I got a new one for free since I got a new macbook. My question is, are they using a different type of screen in the newer ipod touches? Im wondering this because the new Ipod touch screen is not as bright and its a bit yellowish. Now Im not complaining because I like the screen better since the colors look more natural, but still its a pretty big difference between the two screens and I was just wondering if others were noticing the same thing.

Go into settings and you'll find an option to change the brightness of the screen or let it auto-adjust. I bought an original and recently bought a newer Touch. They looked very different until I played with brightness control.
