We all know the Iphone 11 Pro is a 5.8" display that is 19.5:9. If you were to compare the screen width to a phone that is 16:9 what would it be the same as? Same as a 5" phone with a 16:9, or a 5.1", or what size exactly?

Been wondering the same thing about the regular Iphone 11 as well with it's 6.1" screen. Maybe the same screen width as a 5.3" 16:9?

If you google "iPhone 11 screen comparisons" you'll find lots of images comparing different iPhones

I just did but that doesn't give any search results dealing with my exact question. I want to know, screen width wise, what 16:9 screens are the same width.

Not sure if this answers your question but using GSM Arena site you can compare phones and the 8 Plus 16:9 ratio has similar width to the 11 Pro Max with 19.5:9 ratio.

I appreciate the link. That site gives phone dimensions with the bezels, I'm hoping to find something that gives the actual screen dimensions without the bezels included.

I did find a site that will show the actual size of any phone on your screen and using a ruler I was able to come to the conclusion, if that site is accurate, that the Iphone 11 Pro is the same screen width as a 5.0" 16:9 display, and the Iphone 11 is the same screen width as a 5.2" 16:9 display. I didn't spend too much time measuring the 11 Pro Max since I don't want a phone that big but that display looks to be roughly the same display with as a 5.5" 16:9 display upon a quick measurement comparison.

5.8“ => 4.95”
6.1” => 5.2”
6.5” => 5.55”

Wow, thank you very much, exactly what I was searching for. Where were you able to find that precise info?

5.8“ => 4.95”
6.1” => 5.2”
6.5” => 5.55”

Those numbers are, unfortunately not accurate.

5.8-inch
Display width = 2.46"
Display height = 5.32"

6.1-inch
Display width = 2.54"
Display height = 5.50"

The 5.8" iPhone has a 2.46" wide display. A 5.0" 16:9 smartphone also has a 2.46" width display.

You can calculate precisely the width or height of the display by taking the resolution and dividing by the PPI.

Yes didn’t look up resolution / ppi. Just calc‘d with simple geometry from nominal diagonal and aspect ratio. Results same within a few 100’s inch however.

When calc with actual 5.85, 6.06 square edge diagonals, get same numbers you did.

I appreciate the info greatly, was exactly the info I was looking for.

Thanks again.
