guys,

I am on a budget shopping for 2006 Mac Pro components. I have found this ebay seller for RAM. He is selling 2 x 4GB RAM. Does anyone have any experience in terms of quality of RAM like heating and reliability. The guy is selling for $249 approx. Will appreciate any suggestion.

There is another person selling for $240 (Sterling memory)

Agree with above. For a few dollars more you could buy guaranteed compatible memory from OWC or Crucial. If a stick fails in 2 years those companies will still be there to honor the lifetime warranty. I doubt your Ebay merchant will.

owc wants 312 your ebay company wants 240 but owc will take the old memory so 72 in savings may not be as much as you think. personally having used lots of ram from lots of sellers including the D&B rated ebay company I would buy the $240.00 ram. Without any fears.
