This question is really about thread. Adding thread device wil extend the range of your other thread devices I understand that. However, will they also extend the range of other Bluetooth devices or Wi-Fi devices that don’t directly support thread but work in HomeKit? I’m almost certain the answer is no but I’m curious.

Another question, if I have a thread device like an outlet but the outlet is usually automated off except for certain hours of the day, is it still acting as a thread device, or is it not? I think I can guess this one, because the outlet isn’t truly off do to automation scheduling and the ability to turn on within HomeKit it stays on enough acting as a thread router receiving input from the user or automation.
 
You are correct in both questions from what I have read, maybe others can chime in with more in-depth details.
