don't the "predators" have to sign a release form to allow NBC to show their face?

it could be argued that every single thing on TV, including the news, is entertainment.

Oh, I disagree....I think this show his horrible. Don't get me wrong, I think these people deserve to be in serious trouble for this, but I don't think they should be paraded around as if catching a child molester has some kind intrinsic entertainment value.

I think the network looks at it as entertainment, it started off as a news segment on Dateline then got spun off into its own series.

The network looks at it as a ratings grabber/money maker.

So that would make it part of the entertainment dept at NBC.

At what point does a sting operation become entrapment?

Depends on the situation. If an under cover cop goes to a john and sells herself and he takes thats entrapment.

If he talks to her and offers money its a sting.

I've always wanted to get on the show by posing as a 25 - 35 year old and then showing up saying I said that because I thought she wanted an older guy. XD I'd get my 15 minutes of fame and give a shout out to mac rumors.

This show is purely on to get this issue more known about and acknowledged by the public, and to spring up and influence copy cat police stings, the more of these guys getting sent to jail, and the even more who will be discouraged from doing something like this from watching the show the better. And for them being "paraded around for all to see" raw humiliation is one of the best punishments IMO, Every single one of these guys deserved the slap in the face he got. And besides who doesn't like watching justice getting served,
its what draws people into these kind shows, ever watch cops???
yah both of those shows could be considered entertainment but hey you get satisfaction out of watching and knowing that someone really bad just got what they deserved, and that the good will always prevail over the evil... enough said
