I've been looking around iOS5 now that I've got my 4S, but I haven't been able to find the answer.

I figured with Twitter being integrated into the OS now, there's a way to compose and send a tweet right from the springboard (without having to open the actual app). Am I wrong in assuming this? I know you can tweet a picture from the photo app, but I haven't found how to actually compose a tweet without being in the actual app.

If there is a way, what do I need to do in order to make it happen?

Thanks!

it is not designed so that you can just tweet directly from your iphone. apps have a way to tweet something like pic,map or something or go to a contact and send something to someone but you cannot just send a random tweet. you can just go to a contact that has twitter name and instead of reply to that person remove the @name and it will post.

Yeah, the OS integration is just for things like "I took a photo...I want to tweet it."

For plain old tweets you still need an app. (It can be any app, it doesn't have to be the official one.)

Thanks, guys. I was just confused, but that cleared it right up. I usually use Tweetbot (or the official Twitter app), but I thought there might be a quicker way to compose and send one.

Thanks again. 😀
