The iPad 2 came with iOS 4 and thus no iCloud. I noticed it a little bit when updated from 4 to 5 and then 5 to 6 buy both times my iPad had been acting wonky before the updates. So I did a backup to iCloud, wiped it and pulled my stuff back down and saw big improvements.
