How exactly does the "usage" timer work? Should it run anytime the phone is on, or just when you are actually using the phone (phone call, email, web)?

If I turn my phone on, and just leave it on my desk, the usage time runs and my battery seems to drain way too fast considering the phone is not being used.

Two hours ago, I completely charged my phone, then unplugged it and left it alone. When i went back to check the usage, both the usage timer and the standby timer both read 2 hours and 0 minutes.... (And I have push and fetch turned off, location services off, etc, etc- as far as I know I don't have anything running in the background that should be causing this)

Is this normal behavior? I am trying to figure out if I have an app or something else running that I don't know about that might be causing my battery to drain.

Usage is anytime the phone is not asleep or off.

If your phone is still on (awake) after two hours, you probably have auto-lock set to "never." Settings>General>Auto-lock

Mine is set to two minutes, with a passcode activated after 15. My current usage is 1:38, and my standby time is 4:23.

Correct- I am leaving it on just to test out the usage meter.

Just so I am clear, what you are saying is that if the phone is on (not asleep or off, whether you are actually using it or not), then the usage time will accumulate- correct?

Basically, if I leave the phone on, and just leave it on the desk for 5 hours without touching it, then the usage will say "5 hours"

    Thanks again
