Question about Viewing Photos via Apple TV

I have an iMac with my image files kept in folders off of the root directory. I do NOT use iPhoto.

Is there a way that I can view my image files on my television using Apple TV ?

You can access your photos via Home Sharing.

Plex might be a good option. It allows you to share photos from different folders on your computer, from what I've read. I haven't actually tried it out myself yet though.

I think that I read somewhere that this will be sorted in the next TVOS update
