I need a laptop for a 7 year architecture at uni.
Since AutoCAD and some other programs aren't available for mac's I need a vista laptop (I like vista).

Problem is I cant find ANY good PC based Laptops that look good...
I was thinking aren't apple Mac books identical in hardware to some pc's. Could I just get a deal on a new Macbook and install vista on it without os x? and just use it like any other pc laptop in a good solid case?

cheers

I've looked into boot camp a bit but it looks like Autocad has some problems with it.

I suppose there's always good and bad reviews, I might just go for it...
But...

Not a tablet laptop has interested me, Would it be possible to say get an upgraded screen that touch sensitive and swivels. so its like the same but a tablet

I can't imagine how, boot camp just installs a full version of windows with no emulation.

Not in this world or the next.

i don't think you can discard OSX completely on mac hardware. You have to leave a minimum 5 gb partition of OS X, I believe.

Ohhhh... you can do it. As evidenced by all the people who "accidentally" get rid of their OS X partition when doing Boot Camp. I'm sure there's a way to do it completely, but the easiest thing to do would be to make a 5GB partition in Boot Camp and then instead of installing Windows there, you install it over the huge OS X partition.

But don't do it, OP. There's nothing wrong with OS X.

Or even easier just pop the Windows install disk in without partitioning your drive and install it.
