I recently downloaded and installed MenuMeters. It gives a little snapshot into CPU usages, memory etc... in the menu bar.

Anyway, here's what it has to say about my memory:

Is that number of VM page faults NORMAL? 240 MILLION+?!?

I know I only have 1GB of RAM at the moment (couldn't afford a boost when I bought the Mac), but that number of page faults seems excessive, doesn't it?

As is the case with all paging files, their number means nothing as a standalone number. It's the rate at which these faults accumulate that is the indication of whether your system has enough memory.
