Hello.
I have some questions about VPN. Please keep in my I am not very knowledgable about computers....
I am considering to purchase a VPN subscription (Nord) to protect my devices at home. Would this protect my devices against hacking, remote access, keylogging, stealing my files/data, etc? Recently I have been targeted by a certain entity, so I would like to protect my privacy.
Furthermore, if my router had been hacked (or gained access by somebody), would VPN-enabled devices be safe from attack?
There are also 2 ways to download Nord VPN - from App store or directly from website. But the downloadable version from website is "OpenVPN." Is there a difference? Wouldn't "open source" make it less secure?
And would my home IP be shared with others? For example, would Nord obtain and upload my home IP so that others use my home IP as their VPN?
Lastly, is there a benefit to setting up VPN on the router itself?
Thanks in advance.
