I haven't seen a definitive answer on this.

If someone has a promo code for 1.1 of an app, and 1.2 is released before the expiration date of their code... Does the promo code still work for the new version?

I'm asking because I still have a bunch of promo codes for my app and an update should be released any day now... so will my old codes become invalid, even before the 4 weeks, in which case I need to unload them asap? Thanks!

I remember someone putting up codes to see if they would work since there was a new version and it worked so I'd say yes.

Yes, it's seen as a purchase of the application.

Thanks! That makes sense, otherwise people could be bummed that their code expired just because a new version came out, but I wanted to make sure.

And, obviously, I have a bunch of codes... post or PM me with how you'd use 100sounds and I'll send a code!

So confirmed ... 30 days after issuance ... good to know - thank you! Geez, you would think Apple would be a bit more clear with this policy to developers.

Technically, 4 weeks (i.e. 28 days). Just to clarify!

Here's the language. I put in bold the area that raised my concern.

Select an application and enter the number of codes you are requesting. You are given 50 codes for each version of an application. They are for non-commercial use and will expire four weeks after they are requested. These codes can only be used in the U.S. iTunes Store.

Hmmm - the way this reads, it's like the child seat law ... confusing. Thanks for bringing the matter to light.
