I returned mine one week after I got it due to slow 3G speeds. Sprint is now trying to charge me for one month of service plus the $36 activation fee. So about $122 for one week of service.

When I've had to return another smartphone in the past(to Sprint and Verizon), they've only charged me for the time I had the phone and I haven't had to pay the activation fee.

Has this happened to anyone else with Sprint and other carriers?

Sprint changed their policy a couple of months ago.

No more thirty day trial. Read the fine print next time.

Call their customer care.

I did. This is what prompted me to start this thread. $122 for one week of service seems a little excessive, don't you think?

I had it 7 days, not anywhere close to thirty.

Not that it makes things any better but I just checked Verizon and AT&T's website and they have similar charges, including not getting the activation fee back after 3 days.

eh. I bet if you throw a big enough fit, they'll drop it. especially if you're going to stay a sprint customer.

Any time I need something taken care of with AT&T and the CS department doesn't want to do it, I call their Customer Retention department and threaten to cancel my service. Most of those people have no problem doing what you want in order to keep me since i'm a "loyal and valued long-time customer" lol

I left Sprint to go back to Verizon. So that's not going to work.

There is just something so wrong about having to pay $122 for one week of service. I feel like someone is literally robbing me blind.
