Hello, A while back i built a pc inside on original Nintendo (if you want to see it just ask). It's nice to monkey with once and a while however i want to put a 3.5" hdd inside it instead of the 2.5" i had to use (and i know i'll need to put it in a tower. Right now i don't have money to spend on a hard drive, but since my xbox warrenty is void i have that drive for use, it's an 8GB seagate in a FATX file system. is there anyway i can format this sucker, since most OS's don't even know what FATX is.. I have a mac mini with external drive, and my Nintendo PC. any help is much apreciated, thanks.

I don't see why not. That's how you swap drives out on the XBox anyway is by formatting other drives, sometimes partitioning it to use one side3 for modded, one side for original.
