Question for those who have installed iOS betas

When a new beta comes out, will it appear in software update ? Or do you have to download the image again, wipe and install clean on your phone?

Also, prior to installing a beta from a stable release, do most of you backup your current phone in itunes?

Only developers have access to betas via the developer centre. Normal consumers do not. That's why it's called a beta, it isn't completely stable yet and it's still under testing. You won't get it under an OTA update. The latest update as of now is 6.0.1, because Apple released it as a stable release.
