My magazines, books, and newspapers are all on my iPad now. I really don't enjoy reading that kind of stuff on an iPhone screen so that's a big plus. The iPad also ruined gaming on the iPhone for me. I would so much rather game on the iPad. Same for movies and TV shows.

As far as productivity, iPhoto and iMovie are BRILLIANT on the iPad. A bit limited but great for being $4.99 apiece. Garage Band too for that matter. I don't do much document creation, but when I have to, I would much rather do it on my iPad.

Web browsing I can do either/or. iPhone or iPad is fine. Same for texting.

But the big deciding factor is---which gadget do I reach for when I have the choice of one or the other? 9 times out of 10 it's the iPad.

My reason to get the iPad is that the iPhone sucks at doing the Internet!

If you do not know that then you have never used an iPad!

i have a work blackberry, an iPod touch from 2009, and my wife has a 2011 iPad.

the iphone/ipod screen is ok for browsing, but not great. I find myself having to zoom into parts of webpages to read it well, then then you lose the oversight of the page. The web browsing experience on an iPad is much a much better experience, just simply due to the screen size. iPod/iphone screen is competent for games, and I spent too much time there :)

I also frankly like the iPod/iPhone size for reading books, as I can speed read and hold it in a single hand, e.g. when reading lying down before sleep. My wife on the other hand, will only read using the iPad.

as a tablet, the IPad is capable of other things, such as drawing apps, and theoretically spreadsheets and the like but I find these a bit fiddly and prefer a computer for those tasks.

showing friends photos is definitely a better experience on the iPad as well.

Hi im thinking of gettin an ipad but use an android phone so should I still get ipad or is it only worth itvif I have an iphone??

When the iPad first came out I thought the exact same thing. I had the iPhone already why need another one that does the exact same thing!

Using the web on the iPhone stinks. Period. Web browsing is very hard cause you're constantly pinching in and out. Then came my daughter who loves playing games on my iPhone and so when it came to using it the battery life is about 10 percent.

I went out and got the iPad that time...it was the first generation and never looked back. Web browsing is fun, email is easy, and movies? Wow! Super convenient for us when on the road. Give daughter the iPad and watch her go. She was about 6 years old at the time. Here we are now, sold the first gen. and got then new iPad and we are still loving it. My daughter loves it more! Downloaded lots of games and Netflix for her. Hours of fun while on the road and traveling, she loves it.:D I wish the mini iPad would come out and I will get that for her and I'll keep this one!
Oh yeah and now my iphone is always at full charge. ;)

I did noticed that some apps are better on the iPad than the iPhone, like my bible. Youversion allows me to have a parallel bible whereas the iPhone I don't get that option. I love it because it makes researching and studying so much easier!

Probably not relevant to many but Citrix Receiver for iPad is much better and is much easier to use.
