Hi everybody. I am a switcher and it is my first post. I tried to find the answer for my question but I had no luck. If it is already answered please forgive me. As I said I am a switcher. I copied my files from a DVD to my new Mac but all of them have a read only attribute. How can I make them read-write without to much work. I found how to change one file at the time but it is virtualy impossible to do it for 3000 files. Can anybody help? Pleaase😉

I hate when that happens

Right mouse click on the folder with the lock on it and choose Get Info; down toward the bottom of the column look for a Sharing & Permissions header. You should be able to give your self the rights you need if you are logged in as Admin. Good luck.

Hi,

* mark all files (comman-A). Control-click on them.
* With the contextual menu open, press and hold down the alt key - it will change Get Info to Show Inspector.
* Change to read/write (you might have to click the lock to make changes possible)

Hope this was helpful.

/Rupert
