Question Mark On boot 2012 MacBook Air A1466 (solved)

So I made a catalina installer but the keyboard and mouse do not work, and then on top of that it will not pram or smc reset! I know that one of the USB ports is dead since it will not boot the usb stick installer.

any suggestions on what to do.

I couldn't install catalina, because the keyboard and mouse weren't working all together.

Were they working before starting the installation?

If you have a bootable USB drive connected, the Air should detect it during the boot process.

The question mark appears because the Air can't find a bootable drive.

correct it boots to the usb and then I can't do anything to reinstall because the mouse and keyboard aren't working.

Tried installing with a USB keyboard and mouse?

yup I tried installing with a usb mouse and keyboard connected still nothing.
