iPod touch Question on Apple's Battery Replacement Program

For those of you who have brought your iPod Touch in to an an Apple Store for the "Battery Replacement" which we all know is a unit swap:
  • Were they able to hand you the replacement right away?
  • Do you get the same model/generation back or a newer one?
