iPad Question on ipad 2 "box"

So I'm 50 miles from home at best buy with my ipad 2 in hand, I think.
My box says ipad air, the receipt says ipad air 2.
The serial numbers match up. I don't want drive home and find out I have an air 1
Can someone help me out.

Just look for no mute/orientation button on box or open the box.

open it and see if it has TouchID

The iPad Air '1' box has a titled profile of the iPad and shows off iOS 7.
The iPad Air 2 box has the profile of the iPad that is completely on its side.

I noticed the same thing when I got mine today, but the lack of a mute switch on the cover of the box is a dead giveaway. Really surprise it doesn't say 2nd edition on the sticker on the back though.

It says second generation on the back above the barcodes and such

I had the same question. The box mentions Apple SIM so I knew it was right.
