    Hey guys:)

So I'm really close to getting my macbook air but I need some last minute advice on a couple of things. I will mostly be using this laptop for GarageBand and iMovie and sometimes for school as my priories in life have changed:D. I was wondering if the Air can handle that? This is just a hobby I want to get into, nothing serious. Plus I don't think I'll be making long video's or songs just about 3min no longer than 7. I've read alot about how the macbook air isn't great with video's and editing so I'm a little worried about getting it. It's a lot of money so I want what's best for me.

Recording is one thing and editing is another. What I recommend is for you to check Garageband and iMovie on an MBA in an Apple Store. That way, you can judge for yourself if the performance is acceptable to you or not.

Seriously... based on what you say you will mainly be using it for, I suggest you consider a Mac Book instead.

Using GarageBand - there's no mic jack.

Using iMovie - not really built to handle video editing all that well.

And if you're planning to do those things, you have to consider that the storage capacity isn't all that big - for the files you will be handling.

Last thing we want is another unsatisfied MBA owner.

It's just a hobby. Something to play around with. I'm not going to be doing extremely complicated things.

However big or not so big the storage capacity is doesn't worry me that much. I mean I don't play video games, I won't be storing any photos in there. I'm not installing any programs it's just 80GB on what 3 minute songs. Trust me I'm no expert on this but it can handle at least that, am I right? I mean I've read around and actually checked reviews from random people on youtube and most of them complain about the battery or the USB ports but from my view of what I need it's like nothing to me.

I just need internet, mobility, and then I guess I have 80GB to spare.
