Sorry if this question was asked previously

I have 2015 MBP 2.7 ghz intel core i5 with 8gb memory 1867 mhz DDR3

I am thinking of purchasing the new MBP (2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up, 8GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 onboard memory)

will the base model be faster than 2015 MBP

Faster at what, exactly?

You won't notice any difference browsing facebook.

Hit up google and search for benchmarks for both models and see for yourself.

Yes, marginally. Though under continuous load it will throttle and the CPU will slow down.

CPU and GPU are marginally faster on the 2016 but the SSD's are much faster.. Will you even notice any of these improvements? Depends on what you are doing. For general home usage like me? Nope...

But I like the other improvements and changes to the 2016. I like the better screen, better sound, the new keyboard and the larger trackpad.

The KB and larger trackpad are liked by some and hated by others so that will be have to be individually determined and evaluated with hands on time..
