Question on shipping time on new releases for Canada

Hello, I want to buy an 27" imac for uni, and I've been hearing that a new one will be released or announced around Sept - Nov. In previous years, have newly announced models been available for shipping in Canada in the same week or month?

I'm hoping the update will include an sd card slot on the side again. I'd really love a quiet update on their website like they did with the new ipod touch before Sept.

No idea about the time frame, it's all up in the air right now. But sorry, No SD card reader now, and no SD card reader later. Apple has chosen to keep things "slim" instead of keeping things like a DVD drive or SD Card reader.
