Hello Apple Community,
I am a current Macbook Pro user and I am experiencing some issues with using a Microphone for my Macbook Pro. Below I will give some details regarding my problem and I really do hope that someone will help me out.
Currently Using: Macbook Pro 15 Inch, (Early 2011) [Link: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP620?viewlocale=en_US] for full specifications.
Headphones: Bose QuietComfort 25 [Link: http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/headphones/noise_cancelling_headphones/quietcomfort_25/index.jsp]
Problem:
Here's the thing. I'm a gamer. I play team games such as League of Legends and WoW frequently, as a result I need to use the Mic quite often. I recently received a Bose QC 25 as my birthday present which I'm extremely delighted to use, but I do not know how to get the microphone attached to the wire to work. The headphone is just a single 3.5mm jack so there isn't a way to use it with the audio in jack.
Also, I use bootcamp on windows as well so if the solutions will work for both the Mac OS and Windows it would be great!
I read a some solutions online and I would like to know which is the best solution to ensure that it will work as there are parts that I need to buy if I haven't read up wrongly.
Solution: 1) Will buying the AntLion ModMic help? Then I just plug the Bose into the Audio out and use the mic for Audio In.

2) Or will a simple solution such as this help? Where I spilt the 3.5mm jack into the audio in and out such as this cable.

3) Or is a USB option such as the link below a safer choice?

Please help me as I am in a dilemma. Thank you for your time.
