Question re finder and mapped drive..

Hi Guys,

I'm connecting to my Maxtor Shared Storage device across my LAN. When I connect, everything is fine a shortcut is put on my desktop which takes me directly to my files. However, in Finder, when I browse the network drive it takes me to the root of the drive and not directly to my share. Why the discrepancies and how can I fix this?
