question regarding playing ps3 games on imac

Hi guys. I have been a guest here for some time and can not find my current problem being fixed.
I have a ps3 that I want connected to my imac monitor.
I bought a HDMI and mini DVI adapter and it connects from my ps3 to Imac. My question is where do i go on my imac to see the display? Im lost and obviously new to this so please help guys.

Yes, but you need EyeTV which costs ~100$ and it wouldn't be HD.

Plus the EyeTV and similar products introduce a slight lag, which can be a real problem if you're playing games.

Would be awesome if the new iMac has an hdmi in so that we could plug in ps3's and 360's into 'em. I know, I know.....not gonna happen 😉

I s'pose you would be able to buy a monitor and be able to play it, right? Cause, in effect, don't they just act like a TV? Sans TV tuner, of course.
