I see tha the Macbook White Unibody uses DDR3 ram.
My "old" iMac has DDR2.

I was thinking of taking some ram from my iMac and putting it in my Macbook.
Would it work? Would I see a difference? Can you mix DDR2 and DDR3?

Any advice would be great!

No you can't mix ddr2 and ddr3 ram sorry.

A) ddr2 uses 1.8 volts while ddr3 uses 1.5 volts.

B) They may share the same number of pins , but ddr3 has the notch in a different spot.
