hi everyone, i just started to covert some of my dvds to iphone using handbrake but i was wondering do i need to use the 2-pass encoding? it seems like using 2-pass encoding takes an awful long time to complete...thanks.

You don't need to. Two pass adds about 10 - 20% better quality but on such a small screen it's barely noticeable.
