I was wondering what the grey area showing as used on my new Mac Studio's HD represents? As you can see the Blue area seems quite small by comparison. Can I reclaim any of this greyed out storage? If so, How? Thanks!

Thanks!

There are many posts about this, and most of the responses suggest the same thing: to use a tool like OmniDiskSweeper, GrandPerspective, or DaisyDisk to look at what files are taking up space on your drive.

If you need help determining if you can delete certain files, we can help you with that, you'd just need to provide a screenshot or at least the file path.

Thanks!
In your screenshot, you have selected the Startup Snapshot, i.e. the macOS operating system. The gray area is all your data. Select the "Data" volume. That is what is using up all the gray area.

Here are all of the disk reports from my M4 Max Studio. I am only running Adobe Lightroom Classic ( with catalog and image files on external SSD drive.) Photoshop, Topaz Gigapixel and Luminar NEO. I am surprised at how much room has been eaten up. Any ideas?
