I have the iPhone 3g 3.1.3 but I wanted it unlocked due to selling it on ebay.

I went through all these processes and used fuzzyband and ultra snow and now on 3.1.3 the modern firmware is 04.26.08

Does that mean it is unlocked or is there anyway of checking without actually having a t-mobile sim?

Yes, if the modem firmware is on 04.26.08 then you successfully downgraded the baseband thru fuzzyband. That could potentially make that iphone 3G more valuable since even if the owner in the future accidentally updates it to official firmware it could still be downgraded to an unlockable baseband version.
If you have ultrasnow installed on that baseband version then good chances are its unlocked.

Awesome. I have been working on it all night, I sold it for $300 in preparation for the new iPhone. Sending it out tomorrow

I have one with 3GS, but it has a scratch on the screen...which I am still debating if I should exchange.

DAMN IT!

I thought that bootloader 05.08 that could be downgraded with fuzzyband was only for early iPhone 3G models.
I dont think its for 3GS units.
