I was planning on getting a 4S this weekend (which would be my first smartphone). But since people are saying that thr 5 should be released shortly after September 12th than I'm going to wait for the Iphone 5 to come out & get the 4S for hopefully a lot cheaper.

How much less would you guys expect the 4S 64gb to be?

Not much, maybe $50? Apple products keep their resale value pretty well.

When the new model comes out, Apple would only sell the previous model for a cheaper price but with only 8 GB. This has been in the past but who knows if Apple may continue to sell them at a cheaper price. You can always use eBay or CL.

WIth a new 2-yr. contract? I'm guessing about $100 cheaper than now.

Or

They could just sell them at regular price until,out of stock and then just keep the 16GB version in stock.

BTW, I agree with Cougarcat, people get annoyed at vague thread topics, FWIW.
