If people don't like Windows, then they just don't like Windows regardless what excuse they use. This is a Mac forum, Windows people will just have to accept that.

Totally valid, there are lots of reasons to dislike any computer OS. I was only commenting on the malware issue because it's much more of a non-issue now, especially if people educate themselves a tiny bit.

I still stand by my original post...give OSX a little more time and see if it grows on you. You may end up liking it, or you may continue to dislike it, but the only way to be sure is to give it a fair chance.

as for your networking issue OP, im afraid we will need some more info to troubleshoot where the issue actually lies. you have already concluded that it lies between the Mac and the router. so if you could open Terminal (you can find this via spotlight, or via Applications->Utilites through the Finder) and type:

Code:
ping google.com

--- google.com ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 48.269/57.337/65.154/4.755 ms

and
Code:
ping apple.com

--- apple.com ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 100.884/103.027/108.363/2.169 ms

Code:
nslookup google.com

now if you can open Network Utility located at the same location as Terminal above ^^ and post the Link Speed that would be great :)

ethernet: 100 Mbit/s
airport: 54 Mbit/s

also, what other wireless devices do you have on the network? ensure that their IP addresses are separate to each other :)

thats all for now :)

Really the only wireless device I'm running on the network is my iPod. I have an old laptop and a Xbox 360 on the network, but they're both connected using ethernet cables. Even the MBP i leave plugged in most of the time because I just cant get websites to load when it's not. Idk about making IP addresses separate, but something isn't right here. If I open network system preferences, it finds the wireless network, and lets me join it, but then nothing loads. Hope this info helps.
