My girlfriend recently got a new Samsung Tab S6 tablet. And since she's got it, she's had nothing but problems.

Swiping up on home screen to unlock generates an error that can only be cleared by turning it off and on again. She's had similar problems with other apps. She gets popup errors that can't be dismissed (just one right after the other) and it need to be turned off and on again. She's had issues literally (using that word correctly here) since the very first time it was powered on.

Being an Apple person, there's little I can do to assist her. I'm not even sure where the best place might be to send her for help. She got it at CostCo, so we can easily return it if it's just a bad tablet. But we don't even know that. Maybe it's something that could be easily fixed.

So, where might be the best place for her to go get help? I'm not familiar with Android forums.

Sounds like a software issue.
I agree with taking it back to where you bought it & say you require (dont ask for) a refund/exchange.
Depending on what the consumer laws are in your city/country, they may comply or direct you to Samsung.
In Australia with something like that you can return in the first 2 weeks to place of purchase.
Longer than that & you may be directed to manufacturer/distributor.

You are right though, it might be a "simple fix" like a software factory restore, however is that your responsibility on a (expensive) new item?
Personally I would take it back immediately even if I could fix it, or AT LEAST fix it & log some sort of complaint with Samsung.

For the record Ive now owned 4 Samsung phones (currently Note 9) & have never had an issue with any of them, & all
my desktops/laptops have been Macs since 2005

Try resetting it to factory and start setting it up again from scratch. See if the problem persists.

Oh, and don't install any "recommended" apps during setup.

If all else fails, then exchange it.

After several frustrating days, she finally did the sensible thing and returned it. She has a new tablet now and everything is working great for her. She's thrilled. I couldn't talk her into going Apple, but I did convince her to get matching Samsung gear to go with her phone. She's loving whatever ecosystem they have.

Gave my Tab s to my mother and bought Lenovo M10 last month. Excellent value for your money with excellent build quality and specs.

Bought it mainly for digital mags and newspapers like Magzter, play books , pressreader and others.
