Ok so I have 11 audio books, Harry potter 1-7 lord of the rings 1-3 and the hobbit currently they are all broken into chapeters when I sync them over is there anyway to seperate them into their respective books?

So that I could view them via book first then chapters? Similar to having an artist then the albums then the songs

ansered my own question, was to simple just put the books into playlists and synced those over

Create a smart playlist for each book by album and each book will then be properly labeled. I also have HP 1-7 on my iPhone and this is how my audios are done

the Harry Potter books i have are already in chapters appearntly someone used an apple chapter tool program of some sort to do so.

This does work.

Last week however, I downloaded Audiobook Builder. You can import your chapters, then get it to build it all into one audiobook, but keep it so you can skip between chapters when you're listening to it.

Well, actually with the Harry Potter books you generally have to have the book split into 2 12 hour parts instead of a 20-30 hour file.

from what i can tell Audiobook Builder will only allow you to do 20 minutes then you have to upgrade, did you purchase the full version? or can you pm me with other details related to the program?

right now i am using chapter master but it cant find the "actual chapters" so i just set it to put chapters every 30 minutes.

I can recommend Audiobook Builder, it is excellent for creating one long file (upto 18 hours long) broken down into chapters. The chapters will be created according to how many MP3 files there are i.e. if there are 10 MP3 files there will be 10 chapters in the one AAC file that Audiobook Builder creates. Also the AAC file allows the use of bookmarks, so no need to remember where you left the audiobook.

I have used AB for about three years and never had any problems.

Did you use the free version? Cause it said you can do up to 20 minutes for free

Instead of making a smart playlist, have you tried just highlighting all of the chapters of one book, and going into the "Get Info" screen, and going to Options and just change the media type to Audiobook. Also, make sure you take off all the track numbers, just have the titles of each chapter (Chapter 01, Chapter 02, etc.) This is how I have my Harry Potter audiobooks set up, and it shows up perfectly in iTunes and on my iPhone.

Audiobook builder is mac only, I tried using master chapter but it doesn't play back on my iPhone the play symbol flashes on and off rapidly on the status bar

i also have same problem, i have ipod nano and in itunes all my audiobooks are in order with a cover, but then on my ipod nano or my iphone there all messed up and all the chapters are in different orders,
there must be a better way than downloading software?

+1.

iTunes works perfectly for me.

Except for one small problem, iTunes "get info" etc. works fine. The problem is that you can't sync only audibooks that you want; you have to sync them all, whereas with music or movies you can choose and checkmark what you want to sync. I have tons of audiobooks that I sync to my 32G Touch, but because my iPhone is only 16G, I have to sync no audiobooks if I want music, apps, and photos. :(

yeah i have almost used up my 16 gig iphone and i only have 250 songs and 7 audiobooks and i think 47 apps. So i think i'll limit it to 7 audiobooks at a time
