So I have a schosche Rythm+ Bluetooth HRM. Its pairs up with the watch just fine and works great.

However if I run an App such as Under Armour Record and do a workout, that app seems to use the Optical Heart Rate Monitor.

    Has anyone had this experience?

I know the stock Workout App uses the Rythm because no lights are on the sensor during the workout. But with the Record App the lights were on and registering seriously low readings.

You really can not count on the HRM on the Aplle watch. It can yield very inconsistent results.

I've had this with a few apps and the scosche..I find I have to manually repair (or at least select) the Rhythm+ in the bluetooth settings AFTER I have launched the third party app and started the activity. Just having it paired doesn't work. Also, make sure the Rhythm is setup as a source in the third party app as well.
