Questions About Buying A Macbook

Hi,
I am going to USA for 4 weeks and I am so excited My friend living in another state offered me her student discount.I want to buy Macbook Pro 15 inch retina display so here comes my questions.

1)My trip will start tomorrow and I'll be there for 28 days to be exact.I'll be in a pre-college programme and dont know If they give a student ID.I was wondering If Its possible to order an item from Apple via my card but the student id of my friend from internet ?

2)I will click to the option of overnight delivery because fastest is the best Will It be a problem to ship it to a college ? I mean how should I do it ? What If the item arrives while I am not there ?

3)If I go to an apple store with the documents that tells I will be a student for a month,may I be able to buy with my own credit card with discount ?

And when do you think this new macbook will release what would be your advices when It comes to buying this new mac ?

This is your best option. Go to an Apple Store with the laptop in stock, most will only have the base model (2.3/8/256) or the high-end model (2.6/8/512). Show them your documentation and they will probably give you the discount and the $100 free iTunes gift card.

When I bought mine this way, I offered to login to my university's website as proof, since I did not have any other documentation. It was very easy and not a problem at all.

My suggestion is to ask one of the store sales people. If they say your documentation isn't good enough, ask to speak with the store manager. The managers are more flexible, in my experience.

I'm sure your documentation will be acceptable.

The iTunes gift card can only be used for iTunes purchases. So music, books, movies and apps.

The 5th Avenue store is probably Apple's most popular store in the US (maybe the world). They should have them in stock. If they sell out, return the next day. I am located in Houston, TX. There are two stores close to me that have them in stock every day. They sell out, but receive more the next day.

Just tell them you are a student. If they ask for documentation, show them your student card. That should be the only thing necessary. In my experience, the Apple Stores sell to MANY students so you should have no problem at all.

Don't worry about your visa, that's not important. Your student card is evidence.

Edit: I just called them. They were out of stock but they advised that I call back in the morning and they might have some. He said they do not arrive every day but calling in the morning is the best way to know if they receive any. So if you are going to be in New York for four weeks, you should be able to buy one when they receive it. Just call them every morning.

Thank you I talked with them today so they told me i can get some discount however they do not have the macs.I will be there for 26 days to be exact but the last days will be way to risky.I want to go home with a mac retina;after convincing my parents It would be too tragic If I cant get a one.

for the edit section:I am at courses Monday to Saturday so Sunday will be my only choice to go in the morning.Do you think I can make it ? (Other days just have 2 hours to go 12 to 14 )I am so scared that I cant even have fun from the things that I normally would.

I do not think you will have a problem. Visit the store and ask to speak with the store manager. Explain your situation and I'm sure the manager will be helpful. They are very helpful. I am sure they will save one for you so you can purchase it when you get out of school.

In Apple store USA the internet one,It is said that today It was stocked out and will be ready to ship in 3-4 weeks.I am thinking of calling them and see If they actually have a one around 11-12 am.I called the 5th avenue today and the answer was no. actually wanted to go on Sunday but I guess It'd probably be sold out once again.When It will return to normal ? I don't think the website is offering the Macbooks for in-store pickup. When I do it, it also shows that they are not in stock. So do not consider the website to be accurate.

Why not order it online and have it shipped to your hotel (or school)? It does not have to be shipped to an Apple Store. When ordering online, you are required to enter the shipping address, which is different than your credit card billing address. Like this:

That would be a problem because I am leaving in 20 days which means If they ship and I return to my country,problems wont leave me.I am in USA at the moment and I'll be calling everyday the 5th avenue ( Or in the end'I will end up with a normal mac I definetely dont want to We have limited time of going outside and can only enter to the websites from one computer so i really dont want to do that but I dont know how should It work otherwise to have a macbook retina.

I really fear of not getting a one,I can go Saturday 12:30 am and the other one as early as I can,the morning.If they still dont have it maybe that would the best to talk with but I hope you understand why I write alot,I mean there is no sign about when It would come.And also what about bestbuy'they say they might start shipping in 7 days and If I do express'just thoughts ...
