I am planning on buying my MBP here in about a week but I do have a couple questions.

I currently have a 400GB Harddrive and a 250GB harddrive in my current PC (the 250 has the windows folder on it).

If I take out my 400GB and put it in an external enclosure, will I have to reformat it first before plugging it into my MBP? I ask this because there are some files on there I would love to transfer over to my new Macbook (most music and some movies) and that accounts for about 50GB. Will my Macbook be able to read the harddrive right away when plugging it in?

If it's formated as NTFS, your MBP will be able to read it and you can copy the 50g onto the MBP hardrive and then format it and copy it all back over no problem.🙂

FYI: Some USB externals (such as mine) where having problems after the last update 10.4.10 -- so I'd look for an enclosure with firewire.
