I have just created my first backup using Time Machine.

In Time machine system preferences the next back-up is due to take place within the next hour or so.

What i am wondering is if i choose to dissconect my external hard drive now and not connect it again for a few days will it just backup everything that has changed between now and then, or do i have to keep it connected all the time?

Thanks.

It will just backup everything thats changed since last backup. Hope that helps :) With more Apple laptops being sold than anything else, Apple are mindful of the fact that a lot of Apple Computers are portable. This is also why they MUST fix the Airport Base Station/HD issue at some point soon!
